We will be holding a Quiz Night on Friday 21st November, from 7-10pm. As well as an opportunity to raise some funds, it’s a fantastic chance to have some fun and meet new parents.
Beating the teachers is also a bonus!
It costs only £1 each, up to 5 in a team please. Feel free to bring your own drinks and nibbles for your table, which helps to make this an affordable night out too.
Our quizzes consist of a number of rounds of mixed questions, from general knowledge to music and sport to entertainment, so there’s something for everyone. We also play a couple of games during the break, which have cash prizes.
There are entry forms available at reception for those who cannot find them in the bookbags!
As adults can bring alcohol, I’m sorry but there’s no children allowed at this event.
We would like to know in advance of your teams’ entry, but turning up on the night is OK. We will take entry fees on the night.
If you need any more information, please contact us.

We are holding our AGM on Thursday 23rd October, at 3.30pm in the Lower School Hall.
The AGM is a legal requirement for us to hold annually, and provides all interested parties with information regarding the Friends of Chaddlewood School committee. Below is the Agenda for the AGM:
Welcome
Chairs Report
Treasurer’s Report
Head teacher’s Report
Election of Officers
Nomination of Trustees
Any Other Business
Close
It is anticipated that the AGM will last less than an hour. We have laid on a creche with the Preschool in order for parents to attend. We do have to have a set number of parents, carers and teachers attending, so please come along if you can possibly manage it.
For the Election of Officers, we are required to vote in the following positions:
Chair
Secretary
Treasurer
The current officers are willing to stand for a further year, however anyone is allowed to nominate or be nominated for these positions, if you would like to stand for a post, please contact Jason Brockman (Chair) or the school office and further information can be given.
If you have any business you would like to be discussed at the AGM, please contact Jason/Jo Arthur (secretary) and we will add it to the Agenda, alternatively leave a comment on here, you can also leave your apologies here too, if you are unable to make it.
For those of you who are using the creche, please report to the Preschool Bungalow with your child(ren) before coming to the hall for the meeting.
Thanks, and I hope to see many of you there on Thursday.
My apologies must go to those parents who wanted to come along to our last meeting on Friday, but didn’t get the newsletter until it was too late. Unfortunately they should have gone out on Wednesday, but didn’t for some children until Friday which was clearly too late. Newsletters and notices will be sent home in good time for future editions.
We will also update this site regulalry with news and information.
The first topic for discussion at the last meeting was finances. We heard that the curretn account stands at £4723.47, which includes the £3000 earmarked for projects on completion of the school works. This represents a £3109.53 profit on all activities and events run by the Friends of Chaddlewood School last year, and incorporates donations to the school of £1194.60.
Mr Mower will ask staff if there are any projects which we can use these funds towards.
We have been able to set provisional dates for events throughout the year. These are pretty much secured, with a couple of checks needed before they are published. The dates I can let you all know now are:
Friday 26th September - Macmillan Big Coffee Morning
Thursday 23rd October - Friends of Chaddlewood School AGM
Friday 14th November - Quiz Night
Thursday 18th December - Christmas Fair
As more information becomes available for these events, I will update this site.
We have set provisional dates fro all the Discos for the year, however i am awaiting confirmation from the DJ before I announce these.
I would like to welcome everyone back to the new term, didn’t the holidays fly by, even though we didn’t have many dry days through the summer holidays?
Well now the children have settled into their new classes, it’s time to look at this years events that we are going to do for the school. To this end, we will be holding our first meeting of the year on Friday 19th September from 1.30pm. The venue is yet to be decided, but will probably be in the upper school building, so please check into reception where you’ll need to sign in.
This meeting is a general meeting and is open to all parents and friends of Chaddlewood School, so if you can spare an hour, please come along and help shape our events for the year. You do not need to commit any time to us, or sign on any ‘dotted line’, so please come along and see what we’re about.
If you have ideas for us this year, but are unable to come to the meeting, please contact Jason (see Contact Page), or leave a message at the School Reception.
As in previous years we are holding a Coffee Morning to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support. Each September MacMillan ask as many people to hold a coffee morning in the UK, last year over 50,000 events were held raising £7.5million for this worthy cause.
There is not one member of the school community who has not been touched by cancer, whether it be a family member, friend or neighbour. The MacMillan Nurses are there to help cancer sufferers though the diagnosis, treatment and cure or during palliative care if there’s no cure.
This will in fact be an afternoon tea, with hot drinks and cakes available for a donation to this charity.
Friday 26th September 2008
From 2.30-4pm
In the Lower School Hall
This will allow for all parents the opportunity to come along and have a drink and a natter whilst supporting the charity. you can come along before picking up your little ones, or pop in with them afterwards, I’m sure they’d love a cake!
John Lewis are helping MacMillan with their fundraising by providing a free to enter prize draw, with the top prize £7000 shoppping spree at John Lewis. There’s also an opportunity for you to gift aid your donation, so that they can raise a further 25% from inland Revenue too, so please make sure you sign the form for this.
We hope to see you all there!
We are holding a Barn Dance on Saturday 21st June. It will be at the school, and starts at 7.30pm.

Welcome to our new site. We have created it to provide a new channel of communication between the Friends of Chaddlewood School and you our supporters. Throughout the year we hold many events and activities for you and your children to enjoy, and there are often questions you may have, but don’t like to ask, we are hoping this resource will help.
You are able to contact us through the form on the contact page, or ask questions through the comments on the individual posts. If there is anything you would like to know, or ideas that you’d like us to consider, but don’t to come along to a committee meeting, then hopefully you’ll be able to use this resource to let us know.
We are keen to hear from anyone who has ideas for us to put into action, whether it’s an event, a fundraising idea or perhaps an idea on how we can spend the money… Whatever your idea, please let us know.
